Srushti Deshmukh began working on her UPSC exam in her third year of engineering degree. She questioned whether engineering was the right career for her. Then she realized that her ideal job would be within the civil service, and she decided to pursue this. Her parents encouraged her to focus on civils, and find a job serving the people. She was motivated to become an IAS officer and was committed to achieve that goal. To be able to pass UPSC to be achieved, more hard work is necessary. She used to study her engineering courses and prepare for UPSC in addition to studying other topics. The exam preparation took up all day long. She spent only one month studying for the exam and was completely off of the internet and social daily life. She believes that focusing is the most important factor to succeed in the government examination and be an official in the civil service. Her efforts were arduous to attain her dream to pass the test on her first attempt. The routine of her day included reading newspapers in order to be up to date with all the latest information. Online, she collected a variety of study material as well as watched Rajya Sabha TV. IAS Srushti Deskmukh IAS Srushti Deskmukh authored a second book that was called, The Answer Writing Manual. Each library across America is equipped with this book. It is an excellent guide for IAS candidates who are preparing hard to pass the exam.
